Vata Flow

Grounded, flowing movement
Intensity : Moderate
Duration : 60 min
Level : All levels
Best for : Vata
Movement that grounds rather than scatters — a warm, flowing practice designed to give Vata its love of motion without tipping into overstimulation.

Flow that grounds Vata

Vata loves to move — but unchecked movement is exactly what scatters it. The challenge for a Vata body is to enjoy flow without becoming ungrounded, to build heat without building anxiety. Vata Flow is designed for precisely that balance.
This is a warm, rhythmic vinyasa with a grounding emphasis. It flows enough to satisfy Vata's need for movement and flexibility, but it is built around stability — steady standing sequences, deliberate transitions, and a rhythm that soothes rather than excites.
What happens in the class
The practice links breath to movement in a continuous but unhurried flow. We build gentle warmth through sun salutations and standing sequences, focusing on hips, spine, legs and shoulders, then ground the energy raised through longer-held standing poses and forward folds. The pace stays measured — never frantic — and the class closes with grounding, settling postures to leave the Vata system flowing but stable.

Benefits

  • Improves flexibility, especially through hips and spine
  • Builds warmth and circulation without overstimulation
  • Satisfies Vata's need to move while keeping it grounded
  • Strengthens the legs and core for greater stability
  • Leaves you energised but calm
